Ramie is the sister restaurant of Ba Sa, a beloved destination for modern Vietnamese cuisine located on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Both restaurants are the vision of siblings Trinh and Thai Nguyen, second-generation members of the Nguyen family, who have reimagined their cultural heritage through a contemporary culinary lens.

Chef Thai Nguyen is a 2017 alumnus of the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City, where he honed his craft in classic technique and modern kitchen innovation. His training laid a strong foundation for his bold, flavor-forward approach to Vietnamese cuisine—an approach that balances authenticity with creativity.
Chef Trinh Nguyen, a graduate of the prestigious Ferrandi Paris, studied pastry arts at one of the world’s leading culinary schools. Her precision, artistry, and deep understanding of French technique bring a refined elegance to Ramie’s dessert offerings and beyond. Her formal training is matched by a lifetime of hands-on experience in Vietnamese cooking, shaped by her time in the kitchen with her parents, uncles, and aunts. Her frequent travels to Vietnam deepened her connection to the country’s rich culinary heritage, informing her intuitive understanding of flavor, texture, and technique.

Together, the Nguyen siblings draw inspiration from their Vietnamese roots, French culinary traditions, and the exceptional bounty of the Pacific Northwest. At Ramie, their cooking is both grounded and imaginative—traditional flavors expressed with modern technique, vibrant plating, and thoughtful sourcing.
Ramie is more than a restaurant—it’s a love letter to the food that shaped them, the landscapes that inspire them, and the guests they’re honored to serve. Whether you're joining us for a casual gathering or a celebratory experience, we invite you to share in a dynamic, invigorating interpretation of Vietnamese cuisine that is uniquely our own.

We look forward to welcoming you to Ramie and sharing our culinary story with Seattle and beyond. Join us.
